Variations on a Theme

Since Foxx Den went live in January of 1999, something I discovered is that there are a lot of people out there who have a talent for writing. They never pursued it seriously until they, in their own words, found Sabrina the Story and later Tabitha, and decided they wanted to give their paws a try at it.

And if you've been here for any length of time, you've seen the results of those who decided to sit down and start putting words to their actions. Individual novels now exist for Zig Zag, members of The Clique, and a lot of independent furry works revolving around Sabrina as well as original characters; so great has this been that an online library had to be created to house them all!

People have said to me, "I'd love to write, but I could never be as good as you" or "I'd love to write, but I don't think I can." Well, a number of people who said that are now well-known furry authors in their own rights! I firmly believe everyone has at least one story in them that needs or wants -- usually needs -- to be told, to be written. To quote the late great voiceover man Daws Butler, "Don't be afraid to be lousy." You never know, you may not be !

Over the years I've personally received a number of emails and short-stories based on my own works as well. Sadly, most of them have been lost in numerous hard drive crashes (thanks a lot, Western Digital) and if you're one of those people, please send them back to me! This idea Variations on a Theme has been kicking around in my head since almost the first one was sent to me in 1999, and in true Yost Fashion I'm only now getting around to putting it up.
